Inaugural ‘A Racquet at The Rock’ Brings World-Class Tennis to Newark’s Prudential Center on December 7

NEWARK, NJ (September 4, 2025) — A groundbreaking night of professional tennis is set to make history in New Jersey this winter as ‘A Racquet at The Rock’ debuts at the Prudential Center on Sunday, December 7 at 5:30 p.m. ET.

In partnership with Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment (HBSE) and Unified Events, this first-of-its-kind exhibition will transform one of the region’s premier arenas into a center court showcase—marking the first tennis event in the venue’s 18+ year history.

A Star-Studded Showcase

Tennis fans will be treated to an elite lineup featuring some of the biggest names in the sport:

  • Carlos Alcaraz (World No. 2, five-time Major Champion)
  • Frances Tiafoe (World No. 17, two-time US Open semifinalist)
  • Amanda Anisimova (World No. 9, 2025 Wimbledon finalist)
  • Emma Raducanu (World No. 36, 2021 US Open Champion)

The event will feature two best-of-three set matches, each culminating in a 10-point tiebreaker if needed:

  • Carlos Alcaraz vs. Frances Tiafoe
  • Amanda Anisimova vs. Emma Raducanu

With global stars, compelling rivalries, and a unique indoor arena atmosphere, this exhibition promises high-energy tennis and unforgettable moments.

Beyond the matchups, ‘A Racquet at The Rock’ represents a milestone moment for Newark’s sports and entertainment scene. Known for hosting world-class concerts, NHL games, and marquee events, the Prudential Center will now add professional tennis to its legacy.
